Hawaii Hilo softball coach Callen Perreira announced the signing of five players for the 2019 season.
Briana Wheeler of Mt. San Antonio College was the 2018 California Community College Athletic Association state tournament most valuable pitcher. The Fontana, Calif., native originally signed with the University of Hawaii, where she red-shirted the 2016-17 season.
The four other signees are entering their senior years of high school. They are pitcher Malia Risdall (Saugus High, Calif.), utility Megan Johnson (Silverado, Las Vegas), shortstop Nohili Hong (Lahainaluna) and shortstop Kenzie Fox (Mountain View; Mesa, Ariz.).
