It’s no wonder that the Republican Party is almost extinct in Hawaii. Why?
The local population has been brainwashed to favor Democrats in Honolulu’s only daily newspaper. Republicans are subtly painted as ogres in the totally unfair coverage they receive in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Almost every day, the cartoon on the editorial page is anti-Republican or anti-Trump. Photos of President Donald Trump almost always show him in an unflattering, unsmiling pose. Headlines are skewed to make the good things the president does appear bad.
Unfavorable stories about Republicans most often receive a prominent position in the paper, while anything positive is either not covered or is relegated to obscurity on a back page. The Star-Advertiser is a monopoly newspaper. For this reason, the editors need to strive for more fair and balanced political reporting. Otherwise, the Republican Party may not survive here.
