Mom and Dad won big in Vegas and all I got was this T-shirt!

This feeling washed over me as I walked by the pocket park Howard Hughes created for the community, nestled among its existing and yet-to-be-developed condo towers in the Ward area.

Howard Hughes gets the rights to develop 15 or 20 condo towers in Kakaako — thousands of units at a million dollars or so each — and the community gets a tiny, featureless grass park surrounded by said towers. Hmmm, seems like a great deal to me.
