Texas visitor found dead at bottom of Maui pond
The body of a 28-year-old Texas visitor was found Tuesday at the bottom of a pond in Kailua, Maui, the Maui Fire Department said.
Maui firefighters responded to a 2:23 p.m. call of a swimmer who disappeared in a pond on the Bamboo Forest Trail.
The man was reportedly swimming with a woman across a murky pond when he went missing, the fire department said in a news release.
Firefighters searched the area and eventually found the man in about 6 feet of water.
Medics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
