Hawaiian Airlines’ passenger traffic edged up 0.5 percent in October from the year-earlier period as the company expanded its route network and offered more seats.
The state’s largest carrier said Thursday it transported 971,817 people compared with 967,377 in October 2017. Available seat miles, or one seat transported one mile, jumped 6.3 percent to 1.71 billion from 1.61 billion. That boosted revenue passenger miles 3.6 percent to 1.46 billion from 1.41 billion.
Hawaiian filled fewer of its seats, though, during the month as its load factor fell 2.1 percentage points to 85.6 percent from 87.7 percent.

>> Dr. Vanessa Cabe is a new primary care physician at Kaiser Permanente’s Waipio Medical Office. Cabe completed her internal medicine residency at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, Calif., and is board-certified in internal medicine.
>> Dr. Dardo Ferrara has joined Kaiser Permanente’s Moanalua Medical Center and practices in cardiology. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Ferrara served as a cardiac electrophysiologist at North Cascade Cardiology, which is part of PeaceHealth Medical Group in Bellingham, Wash.
