Kauai police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 21-year-old Kapaa man wanted on a $50,000 bench warrant and a grand jury indictment for sexual assault.

Tristian Taeza is described as 5-foot-9, 195 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He is of Japanese descent.

Taeza became a fugitive when he failed to appear in court on a motion for modification or revocation of probation. He was also indicted on two counts of first-degree sexual assault, for which bail was set at $100,000.

Police said Taeza may have fled to Hilo last month. It is not known if he later returned to Kauai.
