The westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway at the Puuloa Road overpass will be closed during overnight hours starting Tuesday for installation of a new electronic message sign.
The shutdown will take place between 10:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., ending Friday morning.
Motorists will be directed to southbound Puuloa Road via the Puuloa Road/Tripler Army Medical Center offramp and may continue on westbound Nimitz Highway to return to the H-1 freeway near Valkenburgh Street, according to the state Department of Transportation. The Puuloa Road onramp to the H-201 Moanalua Freeway will remain open.
Message boards will be posted to warn motorists of the closure and special-duty police officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control. Emergency vehicles, first responders and TheBus will be allowed through the work zone.
In addition, two westbound right lanes will be closed on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway at the Puuloa Road overpass from 10:30 p.m. Monday to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
DOT is installing electronic message signs in various freeway locations to provide information to motorists.
