Starting this week, the Waianae Driver Licensing Center will be open 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
It joins the driver licensing centers in Kapolei, Koolau, Kapalama and Wahiawa, which are also open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
The extended hours are an effort to accommodate an increase in driver’s license renewals this year, according to the City and County of Honolulu. The Saturday hours at the Waianae center end Aug. 25. Those taking advantage of the extra time do not need to make appointments. Volunteers will assist those in line, answer document questions and distribute application forms, freeing up licensing staff to attend to the processing of transactions.
The centers do not offer driver testing or commercial driver’s license services on Saturdays. For more information visit license.honolulu.gov.
