Repaving and drainage projects at Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor will kick off this month.

The Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor is scheduled for phase two of a repaving project in mid-February, with new asphalt concrete and striping planned for the parking lot. The project is expected to be completed within 60 days.

“We will have it barricaded off the night before, the sections they can do,” said harbor agent Ernest Choy. “We’ll be able to work around the parking. Please be aware.”

At the same time, a drainage project will also begin mid-February, resulting in the closure of the north-bound lane of Kaneohe Bay Drive across from Kuono Place.

Working hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays until the drainage project is finished, about mid-August.

Drivers should anticipate delays and are reminded to observe and obey all traffic controls, posted signs and special duty police officers. If possible, drivers are encouraged to plan accordingly or seek an alternate route.
