A 20-year-old man who died after he was struck by a vehicle in Waialua has been identified as Manuel C. Dominguez of Honolulu.

The cause and manner of his death are pending, according to the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office.

At about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, police said, a vehicle operated by a 66-year-old man was traveling west on Kaukonahua Road near Keakula Street when it struck a pedestrian identified as Dominguez.

Emergency Medical Services transported him in critical condition to an area hospital where he later died.

Police said excessive speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
