Emergency Medical Services transported a pedestrian to a hospital after she was struck by a sport utility vehicle in the Kalihi area.
At about 1 p.m. Monday, police said, a 37-year-old woman was running across Nimitz Highway when she was struck by a 2017 Jeep traveling west near the H-1 viaduct.
EMS responded and transported her in critical condition to The Queen’s Medical Center. Police said the Jeep driver, an 18-year-old woman, did not sustain any injuries.
There are no crosswalks where the crash occurred.
Police closed two westbound lanes of the highway to investigate. Lanes were reopened sometime before 4:30 p.m.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether excessive speed, alcohol or drugs were involved.
