Man, 21, critically injured in Waikiki attack

A trail of blood drops was seen near the scene of an attack on a 21-year-old man in Waikiki this morning.

Police have opened an attempted second-degree murder investigation after a 21-year-old man sustained critical injuries in an attack in Waikiki.

At about 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Kalakaua Avenue and Lewers Street, police said a 21-year-old man sustained multiple stab wounds to his body and blunt trauma to his head.

A baseball bat was allegedly used in the attack.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a hospital in critical condition.

A trail of blood was observed on the sidewalk adjacent to Max Mara, a women’s clothing store.

Police said the victim is from Schofield Barracks. It’s unclear at this time whether he is active duty or a dependant.

At least two suspects were involved. Police said a 14-year-old boy was taken into custody.
