Mraz to headline Hawaii Songwriting Fest concert

The organizers of this year’s Hawaii Songwriting Festival have upped the ante for those taking part in the three-day event on Hawaii island next month.
Along with workshops, mentoring and networking opportunities with songwriters, producers, music supervisors, entertainment attorneys and other music industry professionals from Sept. 7 to Sept. 9, three festival attendees will be selected to perform in a closing night concert at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on Sept. 9 alongside special guest headliner Jason Mraz.
The “Hit Makers” showcase will also feature performances by songwriters JoLi, Amy Stroup, Mikey Wax, Streetlight Cadence, Maelan Abran, Kimie, and Andre Merritt. Along with the music, each artist will share the stories behind their songs.
Registration for the 2017 Hawaii Songwriting Festival is $220; a special group room rate is available for attendees at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. Individual tickets for the concert are $25 in advance, $30 at the door (keiki under 5 years old are free).
