Isle journalists bring Gridiron back to stage

BRUCE ASATO / 2015

Mahealani Richardson, center, portrays United States Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard in the number “All About My Face,” part of Gridiron 2015 at Diamond Head Theatre.

Fed up with “fake news”?

Then get “Real Fake News” from some of Honolulu’s leading journalists at the 2017 Gridiron show, scheduled for Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at Diamond Head Theatre.

Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. July 31, and with only four performances of this biennial classic, they are certain to sell out fast. Sad!

Showtime for “Gridiron 2017: Real Fake News” is 8 p.m. Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, and 3 and 8 p.m. Sept. 2. Tickets are $65 for “super good seats” and $45 for “really good seats.” Proceeds benefit the Society of Professional Journalists’ Hawaii Chapter student internships.

Purchase tickets at ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800-745-3000.

A limited number of tickets for an Aug. 30 preview show will be available at the door for $35 for unreserved seats.
