A free weekly keiki putting clinic is being held this summer at Turtle Bay Resort. It started this week and will run Mondays from noon to 12:30 p.m. through Labor Day.
Golf pros will provide instruction focused on grip, posture, stance and stroke. Kids then play on a six-hole putting course at the Fazio putting green.
Children ages 6-17 are eligible.

Local senior women qualifier in August
The local qualifier for this year’s U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship will be Aug. 9 at Ko Olina Golf Club. Amateur female golfers 50 and over (or will be 50 on or before Sept. 9), with a current USGA handicap index not exceeding 18.4, are eligible. This year’s championship is Sept. 9-14 at Waverley Country Club in Portland, Ore. Entries close July 19. Visit usga.org/champs/apply to register.
Applications available for OCC Women’s Invitational
Applications are available for the Oahu Country Club Women’s Invitational, Aug. 21-22. Format again is 36-hole modified Stableford scoring, with net scoring in all flights except championship, which has gross and net scoring.
The field is limited to the first 80 who register and costs $195, $145 for students. Entrants must have an established GHIN handicap index of 24.5 or less.

In October, the Hawaii State Women’s Golf Association will hold its inaugural Partners Away four-ball tournament at Maui Nui (Oct. 14) and Kahili (Oct. 15). It is open to all HSWGA members and cost is $300 per team. Registration forms are at HSWGA.net.
