Man accused of shooting ex-girlfriend makes initial court appearance
A 25-year-old man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend in Kalihi Valley made his initial court appearance at District Court today.
Dustin Ferrentino Raymond was charged Saturday night with attempted second-degree murder. A judge confirmed his bail at $250,000 and set his preliminary hearing for Wednesday.
At about 12:30 p.m. Friday, police said a 31-year-old woman was driving on Kalihi Street when at some point Raymond pulled up next to her in a brown Ford Explorer and fired several rounds at her.
A bullet struck her left shoulder and about two to three bullets struck her driver’s side door.
Police said the victim flagged down an officer who was responding to an unrelated incident near Laumaile Street. Paramedics transported the 31-year-old woman to a hospital in serious condition.
Police said Raymond fled after the shooting. At about 9:45 p.m. Friday, officers arrested him at the Best Western The Plaza Hotel on North Nimitz Highway.
