Carrie Nottage Smith of Na Hoku was named Jewelry Designer of the Year during the Hawaii Jewelers Association’s 41st annual design competition.
Winners were announced during the group’s annual banquet May 6 at Honolulu Country Club.
Nottage Smith’s “Horizon” pendant of lapis lazuli, diamonds and gold depicting a rising moon over a dark blue ocean took first-place honors in the jewelry-under-$3,500 segment of the juried competition, as well as the people’s choice award that included votes by association members and jewelry shoppers.
Her “Convergence” cuff of white and yellow diamonds was the third place and people’s choice winner in the jewelry-over-$3,500 category.
