Hawaiian Airlines tops U.S. carriers again for punctuality
Hawaiian Airlines continued its reign as the nation’s most punctual carrier.
Domestic flights of the state’s largest airline arrived on schedule 85.7 percent of the time in January, according to data released today by the U.S. Department of Transportation. Hawaiian has led all U.S. carriers in on-time performance for each of the past 13 years.
The national average for on-time performance in January among the 12 reporting carriers was 76 percent.
Hawaiian also ranked first in fewest flight cancellations with 0.3 percent, representing 18 cancellations out of 6,276 flights.
In other categories, Hawaiian had the fifth fewest consumer complaints with 0.77 per 100,000 passengers and eighth fewest mishandled baggage reports with 3.51 per 1,000 passengers.
