A high-surf advisory remains in effect until at least 6 p.m. Sunday for the north and west shores of Oahu, Kauai, Niihau and Molokai and the north shores of Maui.
Waves in the range of 18 to 22 feet are expected today along the north and west shores of Kauai and Niihau and the north shores of Oahu, Molokai and Maui, the National Weather Service said. The west shores of Oahu and Molokai can expect surf from 10 to 15 feet.
Also, a small-craft advisory is in effect for waters around Windward Oahu and Windward Maui, and the Kaiwi Channel, the weather service said. A northwest swell will produce seas of 10 to 12 feet through 6 p.m. Sunday.
Meanwhile, a cold front will move down the island chain late today through Sunday, bringing clouds and showers. Cool, dry and stable north-to-northeast breezes will move in behind the front, the weather service said.
