Hawaii volleyball sweeps Grand View
Sophomore opposite Stijn van Tilburg put down 10 kills in playing the first two sets and No. 5 Hawaii swept Grand View 25-21, 25-19, 25-13 in a nonconference volleyball match tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Freshman opposite Rado Parapunov added nine kills, hitting 1.000, when playing only in Set 3, for the Rainbow Warriors (7-2). It was Hawaii’s 18th straight nonconference victory at home dating back to 2004.
Freshman hitter John Chamone, in his first match of the season, had 12 kills for the Vikings (3-1), top-ranked in the NAIA.
The teams meet again at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
