Hawaii Employers Council has announced that Derek Kanehira is the new vice president and director of human resources services. His responsibilities include overseeing its HR consulting staff as well as the strategic direction of the Council’s HR services. Kanehira has more than 27 years of human resource experience, including previously serving as a vice president and director of human resources at Hawaii National Bank.
Pang Communications has promoted Francis Choe to account supervisor from senior account executive. For the past 10 years, Choe has served as a key policy and communications adviser for many elected officials; and worked in the state legislative and executive branches, and the legislative branch of the City and County of Honolulu. Previously, he was a senior adviser to Honolulu City Councilman Trevor Ozawa.
