Military veterans, history buffs and family of Pearl Harbor survivors might appreciate gifts that remind them of the Day of Infamy and the ongoing sacrifices of members of the U.S. armed services.
COIN SETS
This set of four gold-plated coins (1-3/4 inch in diameter) in a mahogany-finish display box is one for collectors to keep. Each coin front is emblazoned with a 3-D sculpted version of the “Remember Pearl Harbor” logo with an American flag. The opposite side is printed with USS Arizona Memorial, BB-39 and December 7, 1941.
Other coins depict the USS Missouri and the words Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; the USS Bowfin with its bow-tie-clad fish mascot; and the Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor, most recently established in 2006, with the Ford Island control tower in 3-D relief. The coins are part of the official merchandise made available by the 75th commemoration committee to help fund its activities and restoration efforts.
Also available in silver-plated for the same price ($64.95-$69.99) or individually ($19.95-$24.95) at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center gift shop, 1 Arizona Memorial Place, 888-485-1941; and at the Pacific Aviation Museum gift shop, 319 Lexington Blvd., Hangar 37 on Ford Island.
