Six companies have been issued violations by the state Department of Health for not submitting payments and reports under Hawaii’s Deposit Beverage Container law.
Beverage distributors are required to file semiannual reports and monthly payments to the state. A $400 fine was levied against each company for failing to file for the period of Jan. 1 to June 30, the DOH said in a news release.
A. Arakaki Store Inc.; Hawaiian Fresh Farm (doing business as Culture Brew); La Hiki Ola; Williams-Sonoma; World of Aahs!; and World Pac Inc. had received multiple written notices about the reporting requirements, according to the Health Department.
Each company can request a hearing to appeal.
