A 26-year-old Makaha man shot and killed himself Tuesday night after arguing with two individuals, police said.
According to police, the victim was arguing with a 26-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man outside a home on Hanalei Street just before 8 p.m.
The argument escalated and the suspect shot at one of the two individuals, police said.
The round hit a neighboring house, which was occupied by a 29-year-old female and a 2-year-old boy.
The suspect then shot himself in the head and died at the scene, Emergency Medical Services reported.
Woman arrested in counterfeiting incident
A 44-year-old woman was arrested Monday after she allegedly tried to pass a counterfeit bill, police said.
An employee at a store in Kapolei Commons used a counterfeit detector pen to determine a $100 bill the woman tried to use to buy merchandise with was fake.
The Waiphau woman was arrested and booked for investigation of first-degree forgery.
Suspect charged with identity theft
A 43-year-old man is in police custody, accused of using an 83-year-old man’s checks that were stolen in a burglary.
Michael Lopes was arrested and charged Saturday with identity theft. His bail was set at $75,000.
Police said he cashed three stolen personal checks totaling $1,950 in December. He was identified via bank video surveillance footage.
