A full slate of major entertainers are on their way to Hawaii in the final months of this year, including soft rockers Air Supply; comedians Roseanne Barr, Jim Gaffigan and Bill Maher; and a former Beatle — not to mention Sting and chart-topper Mariah Carey. The miracle is, there are still tickets left for most of these events, including the Hawaii debut of Ringo Starr with his All Starr Band.

OCTOBER
Air Supply became an international sensation in 1980 when its single, “Lost in Love,” became the fastest-selling single in the world, while follow-up “All Out of Love” rose even faster. “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” became another monster hit in 1983. But the group’s roots go back to the ’70s, and vocalist Russell Hitchcock and songwriter Graham Russell are marking a 40th year of making music, including monster tours throughout China, Asia, Australia and South America.

Mike Epps, winner of a 2016 NAACP Image award for his portrayal of Uncle Julius in the Starz series “Survivor’s Remorse,” comes to Honolulu on a stand-up comedy tour. Big things loom for this actor and humorist: He’ll take the starring role in the upcoming film “Pryor,” based on the life of legendary comedian Richard Pryor. Epps, also known for his role as Day-Day Jones in the stoner comedy “Next Friday” and its sequel, “Friday After Next,” starred in this year’s comedy film “Meet the Blacks.” He’ll perform on Maui (mauiarts.org) on Oct. 30.

Performing as DJ Low Down Loretta Brown, four-time Grammy winner Erykah Badu headlines the Hallowbaloo Music & Arts Festival, which includes stages, an all-ages street fair and a masquerade ball at the Hawai‘i State Art Museum, along with a club crawl for ages 21 and over. In addition to Badu, Hallowbaloo 2016 features Iyeoka, Charlie Hunter and Scott Amendola, D Sharp (resident DJ of the Golden State Warriors), and local artists including Samadhi Hawaii and Quadraphonix.

NOVEMBER
After achieving superstar status with the Police, Sting went solo, releasing 14 albums since 1989 and selling close to 100 million albums with the band and as an individual artist. “The Last Ship,” his latest release, was inspired by his memories of the shipbuilding community in England where he spent his childhood. It was turned into a Broadway play in 2014, the year he also received Kennedy Center Honors.

Comedian Rosanne Barr went from housewife to stand-up comedian to the star of one of the most popular sitcoms in history. Her television show “Rosanne” was lauded for its portrayal of blue-collar America, ranking No. 35 on TV Guide’s 50 Greatest Shows of All Time. In the new millennium, she’s returned to stand-up with an HBO comedy special, farmed macadamia nuts on Hawaii island, and ran as the Peace and Freedom Party candidate for president in 2012.

Peter Cetera sang on some of Chicago’s greatest tunes but has a thriving career as a solo artist as well, having produced songs such as “The Glory of Love” and “Feels Like Heaven.” The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member stops in Hawaii on the final date of his 20-city tour.

Ringo Starr of Beatles fame, whose solo U.S. top 10 hits include “It Don’t Come Easy,” “Photograph” and “You’re Sixteen,” makes his Hawaii debut with his All Star Band. There were still very good tickets left for this concert at press time, as Ringo tours with his All Starr Band — Todd Rundgren, Steve Lukather (Toto), Gregg Rolie (Santana/Journey), Richard Page (Mister Mister), Gregg Bissionette (ELO) and Warren Ham (Bloodrock).

Mariah Carey is returning to Hawaii for the first time in 18 years, on the heels of a sold-out Las Vegas residency and her appearance on the Fox TV series “Empire.” Tickets for her Nov. 25 show, the first to be announced, were sold out within an hour. Two more concerts were quickly added; all are mostly sold out. A few additional seats and platinum seating were released Wednesday; check Ticketmaster for any limited seating releases.

Soulful, Grammy Award-winning R&B artist Miguel makes his Hawaii debut in December; he may well have been destined for the islands since releasing the single “Waves” from his latest album, “Wildheart,” along with remix EP “Rogue Waves” this year. His No. 1 hip-hop/R&B-charting hits include “Sure Thing” and “Adorn.” Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. tomorrow.

Comic Jim Gaffigan has put his life on display in a TV Land series named after him, made Comedy Central specials and hit all the talk shows with his observational comedy. He’s a veteran of the comedy tour circuit, filling halls with his self-deprecating brand of humor, which avoids sharp digs or sexual innuendo.

For the sixth year in a row, HBO’s “Real Time” host Bill Maher will ring in the new year in Honolulu with an “All-Star Evening of Comedy” including Emmy- and Grammy-nominated actress and comedian Margaret Cho and stand-up comedy veteran/actor Dana Gould. As the U.S. wraps up a presidential election year, Maher will have plenty of material to draw from.
