It’s a bit unsettling that two dogs involved in a fatal mauling of a homeless man in Kalihi were returned to their owners Wednesday.
Police have opened an unattended death case in connection with the attack on Crisencio Aliado, 52, who died July 29 of multiple dog bite wounds. He was found unresponsive near Kalihi Stream.
Police authorized the Hawaiian Humane Society to release the dogs as long as their owners could safely contain them at home. We hope they’re properly secured.
