Hawaii has to have more opportunities to vote than any state with as poor a voter record as ours.
Today marks the opening of walk-in voting stations where, thanks to a 2014 law, people will for the first time be able to register to vote right before getting a ballot to cast.
If you missed the regular voter registration deadline, this is your chance to make good. Between now and Aug. 11, you can go to any early-voting location and register; on Oahu, that’s Honolulu Hale and Kapolei Hale, but you can check all locations online (elections.hawaii.gov/voters/early-voting).
There’s also the mail-in option, but some people do like the whole polling booth, pull-the-lever thing (also available Aug. 13, primary election day).
