Oh, to be a fly on the wall during closed-door sessions of the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) board as it discusses the performance of HART CEO Dan Grabauskas.
On Thursday the board spent another 2-1/2 hours holed up to consider Grabauskas’ evaluation, bringing the total so far to nearly 10 hours. Grabauskas has already agreed to two 60-day extensions — the latest expiring Aug. 21 — as the board weighs his annual job evaluation. HART board chairwoman Colleen Hanabusa said there is no indication that another extension will be sought.
Grabauskas, who in years past has received high marks and $35,000 bonuses, is out of state. We wonder what might be in store this year given the rail transit project’s many trials.
