Sales of condominiums outperformed single-family homes in Maui’s housing market in June, according to a report from the Realtors Association of Maui.
The trade association said the number of sales and the median sale price for Maui condos rose close to 10 percent last month but went down or were flat for single-family homes on the island.
There were 110 Maui
condos sold in June, up
11 percent from 99 sold in the same month last year. The median price rose
8 percent to $384,000
from $355,000 in the same period.
For single-family homes, the number of sales slipped 5 percent to 96 last month from 101 a year earlier. The median price edged up
1 percent to $657,000 from $650,000.
Over the first six months of the year, sale volume and median prices were up modestly for the most part, with increases ranging from 1 to
7 percent.
From January through June the number of single-family home sales was up 7 percent to 531 from
497 in the same period last year. The median price was up 5 percent to $630,000 from $600,000.
The number of condo sales for the first half of this year was up 5 percent to
645 from 615 last year. The median price rose 1 percent to $423,000 from $420,000.
