UH Manoa graduate Amanda Casarez is running for Phoenix Fashon Week’s Designer of the Year award.

Amanda Casarez, a 2014 graduate of the University of Hawaii’s fashion program, is off to a quick start in launching her national clothing brand.
Casarez, who now lives in Washington, D.C., was selected to present her spring- summer 2017 collection, Deconstructed Self, at Phoenix Fashion Week in Arizona in October. She is one of 12 emerging designers who will participate in a four-month designer boot camp leading up to the event. Her designs for women are inspired by menswear.
During Phoenix Fashion Week she will compete for the “Designer of the Year” title and a $10,000 prize package comprising goods and services to help the winning brand succeed.
