Police arrest furlough inmate who has been missing since January
Kauai police arrested an extended furlough inmate today who had been missing from his assigned transitional home in Kapaa since Jan. 14.
Orlando Manguchei, 43, was returned to the Kauai Community Correctional Center.
Manguchei was serving time for terroristic threatening and third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug. Second-degree escape is expected to be added to his charges.
Inmates in the extended furlough program live and work outside of the facility.
