A 10-year-veteran of the Honolulu Police Department, who triggered a manhunt last week, was released from the hospital Friday and charged today with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.
Jessie Laconsay, 37, was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree sexual assault. He is still in police custody.
His bail is set at $500,000.
He was arrested Wednesday in Mokuleia and taken to Wahiawa General Hospital for treatment of cuts to his wrists.

Oh poor baby tried to look like he wanted to die. If he really wanted to die he would have used his gun. Have your day in court and enjoy Arizona. I hear it’s lovely this time of year.

If this police officer is guilty of the alleged crime against a child, and he knows the truth, voluntary use of the officers own gun would been the most honorable thing to do.

Statutory rape?
He is still in police custody. I am willing to bet he is also on administrative leave with pay while the alleged incident is being investigated. That seems to be the norm when a police officer is accused of a crime.

Better still examine screening process for selection to attend police academy?? Psychological profile/test of candidates must be examined and questioned how kooks like him get by! Waste of taxpayer moneys to train and feed this leech.
