Kailua man faces threat, assault charges after traffic accident
A traffic accident in Kailua Tuesday escalated into an incident where a 36-year-old Kailua man now faces criminal charges for allegedly threatening witnesses to the incident.
Police said the incident began at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday when a 36-year-old man began arguing with witnesses who saw the accident. The suspect allegedly threatened several witnesses, left and then returned with family members. During the ensuing argument the suspect allegedly damaged personal property and continued to threaten the witnesses.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree property damage and two counts of second-degree assault. He was released Tuesday night pending further investigation.

Typical for the area.
Throw that aass wipe in jail.
What a Dassss.
This has to be filed in World’s Dumbest Criminals. Did that man actually believe that the witnesses would succumb to his demands of silence just because he brought his clan with him?
Let’s say the antagonist was not being Political Correct. He did what he felt was right bringing his family to clear the situation.
so he went go get his gang for try make the witnesses change their minds as to what they saw?…………bruddah some smart
i think you had betta chance if you came back with money for try bribe um
He probably told them he was taking them to a family and friends only event.
Why bother publishing this essentially empty article? Without including the names of the alleged perpetrator and others involved in the incident, or at least providing the address or area where the incident happened (“Kailua” is too vague), this is just a waste of time, bandwidth, newsprint and ink.
It makes people like me feel better about the mundane lives we lead. It’s kinda funny also. 😉
Trying to protect your cuz.
Agreed. Either it was written by a complete novice or edited so savagely that all detail was jumbled or lost.
Im with you on this article. When the skydivers went down in kauai last week, there was very complete detailed information written in the SA almost immediately. Where did that news reporter go? Very selective journalism. Makes the SA look bad at times and allright sometimes!
Typical local punk action…
The wonderful “ALOHA SPIRIT” rises again!
Blame it on Kailua water. It causes people to do this. It also causes women to get married and have children at an early age….
Keeping Hawaii in the high ratings for road rage.
Things like this do not happen as often in a CCW state. An armed society is a polite and civilized society. You are not likely to be yanked out of your car in Texas of Florida over a driving mistake. Only in the liberal, gunless utopia known as Hawaii.
Hawaii is a CCW state. Just that Police Chief will routinely deny application for license.
Which is a virtual gun ban in actual practice.
Yep, try that “superman punch” and “moke-action-I-beat-you-up” b.s. in Texas and expect to be thoroughly ventilated for your troubles.
People might drive faster and more aggressively on the Mainland, but there is far less of that “I beat you up”. General rule there is not to threaten or lay hands on total strangers under any circumstances unless taking some “lead medicine” is desired. I know people from out of state surprised by the belligerence of the locals.
