Preschool classes at a Kalihi public housing complex were canceled because of a small electrical fire this morning.

The fire was reported at 7:04 a.m. at the Towers at Kuhio  Opens in a new tabPark Opens in a new tab, formerly known as Kuhio Park Terrace.

The fire was quckly brought under control five minutes later and was traced to an electrical problem with equipment in the housing’s human resources center at Linapuni Street.

As a precaution, the building was evacuated and preschool classes were canceled, but the family human resources center opened for business.
