Counselor, author named church pastor

David Frisbie, a family counselor and author of more than 20 books with his wife, Lisa, was installed March 6 as lead pastor of Windward Nazarene Church and Windward Nazarene Academy in Kaneohe.

The couple, from San Diego, is best known for books and more than 200 articles about blended families and stepfamilies, a news release said. Titles by the Frisbies include “Moving Forward After Divorce” and “Happily Remarried.”

For the past decade they have served the global Church of the Nazarene, headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., as the coordinators of the marriage and family ministries.

Frisbie is an adjunct professor at three universities and has served as executive pastor and interim lead pastor of one of the larger Nazarene congregations in North America, the release said.
