Two lanes of the Kailua-bound lanes of the Pali Highway near Waokanaka Street are closed because of a break in a 6-inch water main early this morning.

The water main break in the Nuuanu area along the highway was reported just before 3 a.m.

Motorists should expect delays as crews work to repair the water main. Residents along Waokanaka Street, Waokanaka Place and Meleana Place may be without water service or experience reduced water pressure. Crews will be working throughout the day to fully restore water service.

The 6-inch water main was originally installed in 1922.
