The application from a company seeking to bring a 400-megawatt floating wind farm with up to 50 turbines to a site 15 miles off Oahu’s South Shore is available for public review. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management released the lease application of Oregon-based Progression Energy LLC to the public last week. It is available at boem.gov/ Progression-Hawaii-OCS-Lease-Application.
This is the second ocean-based wind farm proposal for Oahu. AW Hawaii Wind LLC submitted lease requests in January 2015.
