OCCC escapee arrested in attack

One person managed to escape uninjured from a two-alarm fire Thursday afternoon in Kalihi. Firefighters responded at 3:12 p.m. to the fire at a two-story apartment complex at 2010 Waterhouse St. The first company arrived at 3:15 p.m. Heavy smoke was seen emanating from a second-floor window, said Honolulu Fire Department Capt. David Jenkins. Firefighters had the blaze under control at 3:20 p.m. Eight fire companies and 30 personnel responded. The cause remains under investigation and a damage estimate was not available.
