Missing Laumaka work furlough inmate Albert Kalakau has turned himself in on Saturday, the Hawaii Department of Public Safety said.

Albert Kalakau failed to return from a furlough pass to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center on Feb. 29.

He voluntarily walked into the Oahu Community Correctional Center at 10 a.m.

Kalakau, 51, was serving time for Attempted Theft 2 and Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges, the department said.
