>> Elemental Minds’ Video Game Design STEM Camp: March 21-24, 8:30 a.m. to noon, Radford High School. >> Gunstock Ranch: Horse Day Camp, March 17; check in from 8:15 to 8:30 a.m.; pickup from 2:30 to 2:45 p.m. Beginning riders ages 7 to 13 are treated to a day on the ranch learning about horses, proper riding techniques and commands; they also go on a 45-minute trail ride and receive hands-on experience caring for horses. >> Hawaii Academy: Spring Break Day Camps for ages 5 and older, March 21-25 and March 28 to April 1, 1314 Moonui St., Kalihi. Half-day sessions (choose from 7:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 5:30 p.m.) and full-day sessions (7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) include structured gymnastics lessons, supervised practice on the gym equipment (such as trampolines), games and enrichment activities including cooking and arts and crafts. These camps for boys and girls ages 6 to 14 focus on footwork, techniques and winning moves. Beginners learn fundamentals and ball mastery, while Elite players work on advanced skills training. Featured guests at the Waipahu camp include freestylers Alex Mendoza and Umar Dalati. Players will be grouped by age and abilities, and must wear proper soccer attire, cleats and shin guards. >> i9 Sports’ Spring Break Basketball Camp: Seven-day camp for boys and girls ages 5 to 12, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 17-24 and 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 25, Holy Nativity School, 5286 Kalanianaole Highway, Aina Haina. The program utilizes a multistation format and line drills to provide fundamental offensive and defensive skills and concepts. Participants must wear a T-shirt, athletic shorts and rubber-soled basketball shoes, and bring a water bottle; basketballs are provided. Daily snacks and lunch are included (except on March 25). • Play-Well TEKnologies—STEM Design Using LEGO: March 21-24, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Voyager PCS. Campers have access to more than 20,000 pieces of LEGO to build engineer-designed projects (motorized gondolas, gear cars, catapults, walkers and skyscrapers) while learning about gear phasing, torque, potential and kinetic energy, traction and prototyping. This three-hour session is led by an experienced instructor daily, while Kamaaina Kids staff lead additional activities including games, arts and crafts, and science fun throughout each day. • Camp Bishop Museum: March 21-24, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (program begins 8 a.m.), with drop-off and pickup at the museum’s Hall of Discovery. Includes excursions, on-site activities and daily access to the Science Adventure Center, Hawaii Hall and the museum’s latest exhibits. For grades K-6. Cost: $55 per day. Lunch: $6 per day.
• Camp Sea Life Park: March 21-24, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (program begins 8 a.m.), with drop-off and pickup at this site. Keiki interact with the ocean’s sea creatures and animals and enjoy daily adventures at the park. For grades K-6. Cost: $180. Lunch is $24.
• SPIRIT Adventures: March 16-18 ($120) and 21-24 ($160), 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (must be signed in by 7 a.m.), for grades five through eight, with pickup and drop-off at the following locations: Mililani Tech Park, Voyager Public Charter School and Ben Parker, Hahaione and Waimalu elementary schools. Independent and adventurous campers participate in surfing, sailing and kayaking activities and learn team-building initiatives and different disciplines of dancing and cooking. Bring home lunch.
• Keiki-PHIT Program: March 21-24, full-day session from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. ($145) or half-day session from 8 a.m. to noon ($115); drop-off and pickup at Manoa District Park, lower pavilion. Participants engage in aerobic exercises, cooperative “buddy” games, personal-best challenges, S.P.A.R.K. (Sports Play and Active Recreation Training for Kids) activities, basketball and more while learning basic movement patterns and athletic training fundamentals to better enhance performance, prevent injury and build self-confidence. Led by Byron Mello, a head coach at Moanalua High School and founder of Performance Basketball Clinics. Bring home lunch.
>> Lyon Arboretum: “Children’s Spring Break Class — Science & Art in Nature,” March 21-24, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., 3860 Manoa Road. Four-day camp for students in grades one through five includes fun in the rainforest, gardening, hiking, art and science activities, cooking, Hawaiian crafts and more. Cost: $160. >> Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor: “Explorers Club — Eyes on the Sky,” March 21-24 at the museum, Ford Island, 319 Lexington Blvd. This four-day STEM program, for students in grades three through five, follows an aerospace theme and offers participants an opportunity to operate robotic telescopes, engineer a mechanism for “soft landings” on another planet, create artwork through astrophotography and more.
