Firefighters responded to a two alarm house fire at 94-1507 Kahuoa St. in Waipahu on Tuesday afternoon. No injuries were reported in the single story home.

Four people, including two children, escaped from a burning home in Waipahu on Tuesday afternoon. The two-alarm fire broke out at about 1:16 p.m. at 94-150 Kahualoa St. Heidi Abitong said she and another person alerted the four people inside who then evacuated. Firefighters arrived at 1:21 p.m., brought the fire under control at 1:30 p.m. and extinguished it by 2:59 p.m. Damage is estimated at $470,000 and the home is considered a total loss, a Honolulu Fire Department spokesman said. The blaze also caused $5,000 in damage to neighboring structures. The cause is under investigation.
