2. Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Kuana Torres Kahele and guests presented a program of mele and hula devoted to the island tradition of lei making and lei giving at the Hawaii Theatre on Saturday. Each person attending received a lei, and included with every ticket purchase was a copy of the “Make Lei with Kuana Torres Kahele” DVD. 5. The 23rd annual New Year’s ‘Ohana Festival was held Sunday at the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawai‘i and on the Moiliili Field grounds.
