State crew clears large boulder from Farrington Highway
A crew from the Department of Transportation cleared a large boulder that was blocking the eastbound lanes on Farrington Highway near Yokohama Bay in Leeward Oahu today.
Police received a call about the boulder, described to be four-to-five feet in diameter, at about 4 a.m. Officers contraflowed traffic until a crew arrived and removed it using a tractor.
Heavy rains likely caused the boulder to dislodge, said spokesman Tim Sakahara of the transportation department.
The eastbound lanes re-opened at about 8:30 a.m.
