1. Henry Kapono brought some musical friends back to Waikiki for the return of his Back in the Day concert at the Waikiki Shell on Saturday. The evening was hosted by Kaleo Pilanca and Mileka Lincoln; guest performers included Kalapana, Keola Beamer, Na Leo, Cyril Pahinui, Theresa Bright, Frank De Lima, The Rough Riders, Mailani, Taimane and Aiden James, pictured. 4. Miss Vamp Hawaii and Decadent Events co-hosted the second annual Hawaii Horror Ball at Bar 35 on Saturday. The ball had a wedding theme of "Till Death Do Us Part" and featured entertainment by local rockers Bone Canyon and a horror-filled fashion show by designers Hunter Vain, Ethers Injection and Rose Wolfe. 5. The Isle9 Honolulu Showcase took over eight bars in Chinatown on Aug. 22 with more than three dozen DJs and other entertainers taking part at venues that included Nextdoor, Bar 35, Downbeat Diner, Manifest, Dragon Upstairs and Scarlet Honolulu. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to cancer treatment expenses for Nextdoor owner Daniel Gray and Honolulu Pulse blogger Christa "SuperCW" Wittmier. The Isle9 Showcase continued on Saturday with a yacht party off Waikiki, and on Sunday with a pool party at the Modern Honolulu and an after-hours event at Scarlet Honolulu.
