Board of Water Supply crews will continue through Wednesday night to fill in and repave a large hole at the intersection of Kainui and Kainalu drives in Kailua, which was caused by a 12-inch water main break. 

The sinkhole is described as 50 feet by 40 feet and has closed the intersection. The makai bound lane of Kainui Drive is closed between Maluniu Avenue and Kaiholu Street. Drivers are encouraged to use an travel alternate route. 

The Board of Water Supply completed repairs to a broken a 12-inch water main at 1206 Kainui Drive Tuesday. Water service was restored to all affected customers.
