Firefighters rescue injured man from a Palolo trail
Fire crews rescued a male hiker who was injured 20 minutes into the hike along Kaau Crater Trail Wednesday afternoon.
His hiking companion hiked down to a home in Palolo to call for help about 6:21 p.m.
Five fire companies, including the Fire Department helicopter, responded to aid the injured hiker.
At 7:12 p.m., fire personnel transported the man by helicopter to Palolo District Park, where paramedics treated the man.
