Nitro coffee debuts in the islands: Bethel Street Tap Room, which opened its doors in November, is serving nitro coffee — on tap. The brew is a blend of Kauai, Sumatra and Costa Rican beans that is cold-brewed for 24 hours in-house, kegged, pressurized and treated with beer gas. The process creates a coffee that is 70 percent less acidic than hot-brewed coffee. Bethel Street Tap Room is at 1153 Bethel St., next to J.J. Dolan’s. The eatery also offers gourmet sandwiches, desserts, pupu and house-made pickles that have become so popular that they are now being sold for $10 a jar (about 10 to 12 pickles). It opens at 11 a.m. and closes between midnight and 2 a.m. depending on how busy it is. Call 255-5927.

Jamba Hawaii started selling the three new drinks this week and is offering free samples from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at all Jamba locations. Also new on the menu is a Loaded Acai Bowl, which has all the toppings as the regular acai bowl, but the base is a mixture of coconut and acai, creating a little creamier and sweeter taste.
Moving soon: You have about one month to get your fix on Hank’s Haute Dogs located in Kakaako. The eatery will be closing on Aug. 14 to relocate to another location, but the opening date isn’t set yet.
Nimitz brewpub closes: Hoku Brewing Co., a business we covered Nov. 14 in our Pau Hana Patrol column, has closed its doors after about a year in operation. The restaurant was next to Liliha Bakery on Nimitz Highway.
