Oahu has a new community-supported agriculture program, launched by the Hawai‘i Agricultural Foundation last week.
Local Inside offers fresh produce bags filled with items from local farms and delivered weekly to sites around the island.
The bags come in two sizes and hold a variety of items that vary according to what is available. They include kale, daikon, lettuce, eggplant, bananas, dragon fruit, papaya and more. Eggs, cheese, butter, juice and other products are available at an additional cost.
Restaurants associated with the program will share a recipe and offer specials.
Small bags to feed two are $25; large bags for four are $30.
Bags are delivered to pickup sites Tuesdays to Thursdays. Visit localinside.org or call 754-6697.
