Message of aloha fits to a tee
How many ways can you say "aloha"?
Long before Cameron Crowe appropriated the word for his film, Hawaii artist Michael Paz, founder of NSU North Shore Underground/Hawaiianbuilt, issued himself a Facebook challenge to create and post a new aloha-themed graphic every day. His experiment turned into Project Aloha, with a series of T-shirts that aims to pass on the message of aloha.
Now Paz has teamed with Tommy Bahama on an exclusive collection of limited-edition summer T-shirts to spread the Hawaiian message of peace and positivity, in keeping with the brand’s relaxed, casual attitude.
Project Aloha for Tommy Bahama will launch Friday. Two new custom-designed graphic-print tees — one for men and one for women — will be released every Aloha Friday for eight weeks, ending Aug. 14, just in time to celebrate National Relaxation Day on Aug. 15.
The T-shirts will retail for $42 at Tommy Bahama stores nationwide as well as on tommybahama.com.
