Local pie contest
Pie makers: Don’t forget to enter the Best Local Pie contest, seeking submissions through Saturday.
The contest, among the activities tied to the Hawaii State Farm Fair July 11, is seeking recipes that feature as many local ingredients as possible.
At the fair, judges will taste the pies of three finalists selected from the recipes submitted.

Vegan treats
Ori Ann Li will demonstrate techniques for creating vegan chocolate desserts, 1-2:30 p.m. June 24 at the Waikiki Community Center.
